I'm Kathryn Dahlin and I love living and raising my family in Draper. With the development of The Point at the former state prison site and state density requirements pressing our developable land, Draper will continue to grow. This growth will bring opportunities – and real challenges for our city. My professional background includes working with cities on transportation planning and funding and I want to ensure that Draper is prepared for our infrastructure needs.
I’m running for City Council because I believe we can preserve the character and heart of Draper while moving successfully into the future. We must prioritize preserving our trails and open spaces, and anticipate future transportation and infrastructure needs. I have also been a voice for transparency and accountability in government and I will bring my commitment to good governance to this role in the City Council.
Vote Kathryn Dahlin for Draper City Council

About Kathryn Dahlin
My family and I have lived in Draper for over 12 years. As a young adult, I studied political science and music at BYU. After a church mission to Germany, I moved to Washington, DC, where I worked as a legislative aide in the US Senate. I specialized in a number of issue areas including transportation, technology and housing. When I worked for Senator Bob Bennett, I worked directly with the state and cities, including Draper, on funding for transportation priorities. After 12 years of experience, I transitioned to being a full-time parent, dedicating my time to raising my 4 children while continuing to serve our community.
Currently, I am President of a local PTA Board of Directors and sit on the Draper Park Middle School Community Council. I believe in collaboration and problem solving to achieve sound policy. I follow local, state and national politics and have served as a Republican State and County delegate as well as in my neighborhood precinct leadership. I am a passionate advocate for fiscal responsibility at all levels of government and I support efforts in our city to maintain a high level of service while keeping our tax rates low. I have advocated (in person and in Guest Opinion articles in the Deseret News) for transparency and accountability from our government and government officials and I will bring my commitment to good governance to this role in the Draper City Council.
I love to be outside exploring our beautiful city and state and especially enjoy hiking and running. Other hobbies include budgeting, enjoying all types of music, traveling and playing bingo with my family on Sunday nights.
